Revolupedia:Conduct

From Revolupedia
Jump to navigation Jump to search

The following are rules for editor conduct on Revolupedia which must be followed. Violations of these rules may result in sanctions against an editor, including a ban from the project.

Banning policy

Appealing a ban

Because a ban is largely intended to protect the project from disruption as opposed to being punitive, banned editors may be able to appeal their ban depending on its severity so long as they can prove that they are able to be productive. To do this, go to your talk page and start a new topic where you:

  • State the circumstances which resulted in your ban, if they are valid, and related details to indicate your understanding.
  • Clarify that you will not repeat these actions.
  • Provide examples of contributions you would like to provide in the near-future, such as the names of pages.

A ban may be lifted at the discretion of an administrator within reason.

Conduct

Content-related

Spam and self-promotion

Self-promotional content, advertisements, and general vanity will be considered spam and removed immediately. This also applies to abusing our communities on external platforms to promote your web content. Any account which is created with the purpose of self-promotion will be instantly banned.

Defamation

Content relating to individuals, particularly those who are currently living, must be well-sourced. Any content which is found to be libelous will be removed immediately and the responsible editor banned.

Personal information and doxxing

Unauthorized publication of personal information which could identified a person, particularly relating to an editor or anonymous user, regardless of if it is true or not, will result in an immediate ban and the offending edits will be suppressed by an administrator.

Unsourced claims and misinformation

Revolupedia upholds a high standard with its content, and all information must be adequately attributed to a usable source of information. Generally-known facts do not require sourcing, but more technical or specific details do. Information which is found to be false must be removed immediately, and the repeated inclusion of it will result in sanctions for the offending editor, including a ban from the project.

Behavior-related

Ideological deviations

Revolupedia, as elaborated in our principles, follows anti-revisionist Marxism–Leninism as a leading revolutionary theory for the international working class. We do not claim to be a "non-sectarian" project, and do not accept anti-communist, revisionist, or idealist tendencies which serve counter-revolutionary aims.

We do not exclude newcomers to revolutionary communism, but those dedicated to these tendencies will be sanctioned and banned if needed.

Civility

All editors are expected to be amiable to each other and act with civility. We are all working for the same goal of revolution. However, editors who are disrespectful, make personal attacks and insults, and show themselves unwilling to work in a collaborative project will be sanctioned and banned.

Discrimination

Revolupedia is an inclusive project, and does not accept those who discriminate against other groups of people. Bigotry and discrimination against others for their nationality, gender, ethnicity, age, appearance, and other traits are not allowed. This includes anti-LGBTQ+ discourse. Offending editor will be banned from the project immediately.

Account-related

Usernames

Usernames should be appropriate and without obscene or offensive content. Usernames which contain any part of one's real name are highly discouraged (use an alias at all times), and usernames which impersonate an individual are strictly prohibited. Usernames which contain self-promotional content are likewise prohibited.

Alternative accounts

A person is allowed only one account on Revolupedia with certain exceptions (for instance, testing purposes). An alternative account created without proper justification and with malicious intent (e.g. evading bans, influencing discussions) is considered a sockpuppet and is not allowed.
